Please follow these measurement instructions exactly. Taking the time to measure carefully will greatly improve your enjoyment.
The measurement procedure for Boys is similar to the measurement procedure used for Men. The chief difference is the 'Growth Factor' that must be considered.
Waist - Where you wear your belt. One way is to put on a pair of trousers where the waist of the pants fall exactly where you want to wear your kilt. Thread a fabric tape measure through the belt loops (no belt). Stand straight and do not hold in your stomach. Pull the tape measure snugly, but not tightly. Record the value in the provided Waist blank.
Seat - At the fullest part of your body below the waist, measure with the tape measure. Again, the tape measure should not be pulled tightly. Record the value in the provided Seat blank.;
Length - It is important that you take this measurement carefully/ The easiest way to take this measurement is to kneel on the floor with your back straight and making sure not to lean forward or backward.
With a yardstick, measure from the floor to the waist in the front. Then take a similar measurement in the back and on each side. If you are kneeling erectly, all measurements should be the same.
Measurement taken in this manner places the length to be at mid-knee level. If you want your kilt to be shorter or longer, use the Alternate Method.
Alternate Length measurement: - While standing, have an assistant mark the place on your trousers where you want the kilt to fall. Mark this location with a straight pin in your trousers. Carefully measure from the waist to the marked location.

**NOTE: Children usually grow in height at a rapid rate at certain ages. Some increase in body girth and other do not. It is recommended that the kilt be ordered a little long so that it may be worn for a longer period of time. The apparent length may be adjusted by wearing the waist slightly higher in the beginning and move it lower as height increases.
